Since launching our first website in the late 1980s, Mears Family Funerals has been a strong advocate for Funeral Directors publishing their prices. We continue this proud tradition across our site, offering excellent service at a cost that the large corporate chains often cannot, or choose not to, match.
A Range of Choices
Choice is fundamental to our service. We offer options ranging from the simplest services to the highest quality, solid wood American-style caskets. All our funerals utilise our modern, Hybrid-powered ceremonial fleet. We also provide alternative vehicles, such as a horse-drawn Victorian Carriage Hearse, and numerous other options to ensure your needs are met.

Mears Family Funerals is dedicated to open and transparent pricing. This commitment covers all aspects of our service, including our professional fees, the full range of coffins and caskets, limousines, additional products, and, where possible, the third-party fees - or disbursements - that we manage on your behalf.
We are fully compliant with the requirements set out in the CMA Funeral Market Investigation Order 2021, which took effect on September 16th, 2021. Standardised Price Lists are clearly displayed in the windows of all our branches, with copies and further information available both inside each branch and on our websites.
Disbursements
Disbursements are external fees that we pay to third parties, such as cemeteries, crematoria, churches, clergy, organists, and celebrants. These items are clearly itemised in all our estimates and are charged to you at cost, without any mark-up.
