Mears Family Funerals is a proud member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and, in accordance with its Code of Practice, we offer a Basic Funeral to the standard specification set by the NAFD.
As this service is designed to meet a specific choice or economic need the services available are restricted to those shown below. This specification excludes embalming, viewing of the deceased, provision of a limousine.
In addition to our charges, there will be third-party disbursements to pay such as the cremation fee, doctor’s fee and officiant’s fee.
For £2,765.00 we will:
Provide care at one of our own Care Centres.
Prepare the body for the coffin in a respectful and dignified manner.
Provide a quality English style coffin with handles and name plate.
Place any personal items you send us in the coffin (please ask for guidance).
Provide a hearse with Funeral Director and attendant bearers direct to the crematorium or cemetery.
Funeral date and time at our discretion, Tuesday to Thursday only.
Provide in person, telephone and/or email support to complete all required paperwork.
You may also visit us at any of our local branches to discuss this service.
You are welcome to visit one of our branches to arrange a Basic Funeral. Alternatively, we can email or post all paperwork to you and provide full support to ensure that you are able to complete necessary forms accurately and quickly. We will pre-fill most of the forms for you leaving just a few signatures.
