Lisa McDermott, Managing Director of Mears Family Funerals, said: “The new Mears Family Funerals branch in Orpington will be opening very soon and brings our unique brand of low cost, high quality funeral services to the residents of Orpington and the surrounding areas. The figures above show that we are able to deliver a high quality funeral service at the most competitive price in the area.”
The Funeral Director Fees used in the above comparison table were taken from the Mears Family Funerals, Orpington Funeralcare, Francis Chappell & Sons, Doves Funeral Directors websites on 26 October 2020 and includes a coffin, a hearse and one limousine. As Valentine & Turner and Colin Fisher Funeral Directors do not publish prices on their website the Funeral Director Fees were taken from their respective pages on Beyond.life on 26 October 2020. The disbursements are based on an adult cremation at Kemnal Park Crematorium, Doctors’ Fees as published by the BMA and an average fee for a funeral celebrant.
As part of its commitment to providing a high quality service, Mears Family Funerals is proud to own the most modern, environmentally-friendly ceremonial fleet in the area. The 2020 hybrid hearses and limousines are fitted with hybrid drive train technology which combines a petrol engine, electric motor and lithium-ion battery. On the majority of journeys the electric motor will deliver a whisper-quiet, clean and efficient ride, with a regenerative braking system that charges the battery by capturing up to 90% of the energy normally lost when braking.
Steven Mears, group CEO, said: “In just over four years we have grown Mears Family Funerals from the first branch in Catford to the eighth branch opening in Orpington this month. We are committed to offering the local communities we serve a premium funeral service at a low cost.”
